Nintendo establishes the catalog

Nintendo Japan’s public Nintendo Classics index and each game’s official detail page establish the catalog record, service listing and official media used on this site. Manuals, Nintendo interviews and other first-party archives are preferred for controls, release context and creator testimony.

02 / Historical context

Good stories sometimes need more than one archive

Named developer interviews, preserved manuals and magazines, institutional archives and clearly attributed professional reporting may support a specific historical claim or a contemporary critical response. These sources are identified individually; a review describes that reviewer’s judgment, never an invented consensus.

Specialist guides and community references may support a narrowly stated gameplay detail when the page is inspectable, named in the source ledger, and cross-checked against a manual, an official record, or another independent source. Forums, search snippets and unsourced videos may suggest a lead, but are never cited as evidence. Disputed history and behind-the-scenes claims require a primary document or accountable professional reporting; otherwise they stay out of the article.

Research is absorbed, not republished

Classic Explorer writes its own game stories from the verified record. It does not copy Nintendo descriptions, manuals, interviews or reviews into a new arrangement. Facts remain tied to sources; interpretation is presented as interpretation; uncertain anecdotes are omitted instead of polished into certainty.

Attribution beside the media

Displayed screenshots, overview images and referenced videos come from Nintendo-hosted or Nintendo-linked official pages. A source credit sits beside every item, and the original game page remains one click away. Nintendo and the relevant rights holders retain ownership; display does not imply sponsorship or endorsement.

05 / Independence

No rankings disguised as facts

This is an independent publication, not a Nintendo product. It does not invent review scores, sales figures, “first ever” claims, creator credits or influence stories. Strong claims require strong, inspectable evidence.

06 / Corrections

Traceable records

Every game page exposes its official record ID and source links. Full stories also include a source ledger that lets readers inspect the evidence behind the article. When a correction is needed, the public copy and its evidence are reviewed together.
